Being disabled does not have to be the end of life nor is getting old a crime. Medical equipment manufacturers, doctors, the medical fraternity and with the advancements in technology have ensured that the disabled person is able to lead a normal life and the elderly need not depend upon anyone else. Motorized wheelchairs and disability scooters are instances of this technology. While motorized wheelchairs help a disabled and an elderly person move about with greater ease but it is obviously meant for short distances. Disability scooters on the other hand play a vital role in helping an elderly person and the disabled person improve quality of life.
Disabled people face constant challenges and lack of mobility and freedom of movement rank among the top hurdles that they try to surmount and the elderly along with growing weakness and other physical issues deprive themselves from living life the way they want to, which they consider is not possible without depending on a family member. Increased mobility due to technology is a boon to the disabled and the increased sales in both wheelchairs and scooters are testimony to this fact.
